Surviving 50 Years Feels GOOD

Hola Bitcholas,

Happy Monday to all...if there is such a thing.

My 50th birthday was on Friday. I'm still in disbelief, but only because I truly never thought I'd make it.  I know everyone says that, but I can say with certainty that the first 30 years of my life were made up of a series of poor decisions. Again, most people can say the same, but every time I compare stories, it seems that I was dumber than most. I'm OK with that and have zero regrets.

Anyway, I wasn't so sure I was gonna make to 50 until I hit about 35. At that point I realized that I would really LIKE to make it to 50...and now I have.

A lot of people complain that they "hate" getting older.  Listen, I understand that the inexplicable pains and occasional grey pubes kinda suck, but how can you hate getting older?  The alternative is something we all actively try to avoid, so why the hate?

Also, I finally get the "public pass" to be an assh*le!

You turn 18, everyone says "you're an adult now".  All they really mean is that you'll be CHARGED as an adult, but you still get a pass to act a fool. Turn 21, everyone says, "you can drink now", but you still get some leeway to be an idiot. Turn 30 and everyone questions if you're making the right decisions and truly planning for your future. Turn 40 and people just assume that you are a respectable adult.

Now, at 50, I've noticed that I now get the pass to just be however the f**k I'm gonna be. Love that sh*t.

OK, I'm outta here.

Until tomorrow, do what you do best and STAY BEAUTIFUL!
